3/8″ finished Hex Nut is used for fastening to a hex head cap screw or bolt when mechanically joining materials together. Grade 5 hex nuts are medium strength for applications requiring higher load, tensile or shear strength such as children’s playgrounds. Made from medium carbon steel, quenched and tempered for higher strength. Zinc-plated steel provides moderate corrosion resistance with a bright and smooth surface.
