Mario Frangione grew up with Mario and Sam Giannetti on Primrose Avenue, half a dozen blocks from the store. He and Sam had their marriages a week apart in July 1973 before the trio took over Preston Hardware in December. They were jokingly referred to as “The New Kids on the Block”. Mario’s main tool is the calculator. As the store’s chief accountant, Mario balances the books … from bathtubs to barbecues. From his second floor office, he handles accounts and receivables. Mario maintains that strong customer relations are key, whether it’s a contractor or a do-it-yourselfer buying a lighting fixture or hard-to-get, high quality housewares. |
